Recreation and Parks
Welcome to the City of Hanahan Recreation and Parks Department. It is our goal to provide quality leisure services to citizens of all ages. We will strive to accommodate the recreational needs to all citizens and to provide them a safe and clean facility and enjoyable environment. We encourage everyone to actively participate in our programs.
The Recreation and Parks Department offers a diverse array of programs, sports, and activities for the young and young at heart. Our goal is "to provide an outlet for recreational activities for all that are both educational and fun… where the benefits are endless."
Youth Sports Overview
The Youth Athletics Division offers a number of activities for youth ages 3 to 17. Clinics are offered for youth and coaches for each sport prior to the beginning of each season as well as training and instructional classes which are offered periodically.

Registration Information
A Youth Sports Registration Form must be completed. Participants are required to have medical insurance. A copy of the child's birth certificate must accompany the registration form. To download a registration form click here.

$30.00 Hanahan Residents
$50.00 Non-Residents
Volunteers
Volunteer Coaches are needed for all youth athletic programs.
Applications are available at the Recreation office. Background checks will be administered to all volunteer coaches prior to being accepted as a coach. For more information contact the recreation and parks department at 843-266-0723
Adult Sports Overview
While the athletic focus of the Recreation & Parks Department is centered on youth sports, the Department offers adult softball during the spring and fall.

Facilities
We pride ourselves in doing our best to keep our facilities well kept. We have 7 baseball/softball fields along with a full size soccer field off Railroad Ave. We also have a gymnasium which features 2 full basketball courts. Click here for more information on these facilities and others.
Senior Center
The Senior Center is located at 3200 Mabeline Road behind the Recreation Dept. and next to the elementary school. Seniors 54 years of age and older are eligible for membership. Our hours of operation will be based on the monthly calendar. If you would like to start a class or speak on a topic relative to seniors, just call the center and we will discuss what arrangements can be made. The phone number is 843-266-0958.
