Biography

Amanda Lynn Colvin-Shea is a Hanahan native and has been married to David Jason Shea for 20 years. They have 2 children, William John Kelly (HHS c/o 2022, now at Charleston Southern University for Business Analytics) and Jackson Lawrence Shea (HMS c/o 2029). Amanda attended Fishburne Elementary, Hanahan Middle and Hanahan Highschool, graduating in 2001. Following graduation from Hanahan High School, Amanda attended Trident Tech and achieved an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts as well as an Associate’s Degree General Science. Following Trident Technical college, she then attended Charleston Southern University and achieved a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Registered Nursing. Amanda works for the Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital giving back to those that put their lives on the line to protect our country because her whole family selflessly signed up in different branches of the military to protect the citizens within our country, a calling she admires.

Amanda has lived in Hanahan Proper for 20 years raising her children in the home the man she considered her uncle was also raised in. Her mother and husband have both worked for the City of Hanahan over the years, a calling they felt strongly about trying to give back to the city that her family loves and want to keep beautiful and close knit. Amanda is an empathetic individual and is willing to hear fellow citizens’ grievances at any time. Amanda advocates for transparency and wants to restore luster back to the city that has been lost over the years for the citizens she represents. She believes Hanahan is a hidden GEM in an ever-growing area. She could not think of a better place to raise her children. Her parents William and Brenda Colvin, sister Allyson Colvin Price with her husband Joshua Price and her nephew Elyas Price also live in this beautiful city and live only one mile away from each other. Amanda wants to bring some of the luster back to Hanahan that has been lost over the years as well as listening to grievances from Citizens throughout the city to help rectify issues citizens have been dealing with for years. She promotes an open line of communication so she can restore Hanahan back to what many of us know once was. If at any time you have any issues, Amanda wants ALL citizens to feel free to reach out without fear of retaliation as she too wants Hanahan to remain a little piece of Heaven hidden in the Tri County area.
