Uniform Patrol Division

On the Front Lines of Community Safety

The Patrol Division is the backbone of the Hanahan Police Department. It is divided into four squads, each consisting of a supervisor, an assistant supervisor, and a dedicated team of officers. Patrol officers serve as the department’s first responders. Their core responsibilities include:

  • Responding to calls for service

  • Upholding municipal ordinances

  • Conducting proactive crime prevention initiatives

  • Performing code enforcement to address quality-of-life violations

Patrol Zones

The city is divided into three patrol zones, with officers assigned to a specific zone during their shifts. This zone-based model allows officers to:

  • Build relationships with residents

  • Gain insight into neighborhood-specific concerns

  • Collaborate with the community on problem-solving

  • Provide faster and more efficient responses to calls
