C-Shift
Biography
Chief Gros is the Battalion Chief for C shift. He began his career in the fire service in October 2001, following the events of 9/11, joining two of his older brothers in serving. He later joined the team at Hanahan Fire in May of 2010. He is currently the longest serving member of the Hanahan Fire Department having now served over 15 years with the City. He was crucial part of the team that lead Hanahan Fire Department’s COVID and Immunization response, earning Hanahan Fire Department the SC EMS Association’s EMS System of the Year award, The Municipal Association of South Carolina’s Public Safety Achievement award, and the SCDHEC’s Community Collaboration award. He is currently working towards his Fire Marshal and Fire Investigation certifications.
Special education includes: A.S. in Fire Science, Fire Officer level IV, Respiratory Protection Manager, Public Information Officer, Instructor level II, NFIRS/NERIS manager, NR EMT-B, as well as several other certifications in leadership and development.
