Future Leaders of Hanahan

The Future Leaders Of Hanahan (FLOH) program is a 5-month program through the City of Hanahan Recreation Department. This program is offered to ages 14-17. The program is broken down into 6 sessions that are held once a month on Saturday’s. The month of May will have two classes. Please see class dates below. The program will give students firsthand instruction on the following:

✅Government 101 and Financial/career planning (5/4/24)
✅Harmful effects of Drugs & Alcohol/Prevention Measures (5/18/24)
✅Positive interaction with law enforcement (6/22/24
✅Vehicle Maintenance and Safe Driving (7/13/24)
✅Basic First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification (8/24/24)
✅Diversity, Inclusion, Positive Thinking, and Advocating for others (9/7/24)
 
The FLOH program is taught by City of Hanahan staff members and community members! 

The FLOH program is by application ONLY. Completed applications must be returned by April 12th, 2024 to Program Director, Katelyn Pippin at (Kpippin@cityofhanahan.com)

Once the application is complete, candidates that are accepted into the program will be notified by April 19th,2024. 

The fee for the program is $50.00 and is only due once the participant is selected.

Program is limited to only 20 participants. Participants must be Hanahan residents.

Classes will be at the Hawks Nest Multi-Purpose room. All class times start at 12:00pm. End time for classes will vary. No class will exceed 4 hours. Lunch is provided to participants. 

At the end of 5 months, FLOH students will graduate with a certificate of completion for the program and will receive recognition at the September 10th, 2024 Hanahan Council Meeting.
