Description: 

Japan Karate Institute teaches Wado Ryu Karate, a traditional martial art meaning the way of peace; Wado Ryu was founded in 1934 by Shihan Hironi Otsuka. Japan Karate Institute teaches this art as it was handed down from Otsuka to Soke Hirono to Shihan Dale Coker. Wado Ryu is great for self-defense, fitness, and building self-confidence. Our Hanahan program is for students as young as age 6. Ryan Mello is the instructor for this program. 

 

New participants are encouraged to wear t-shirt and sweatpants or athletic shorts (NO POCKETS).

 

Classes are held at the Hawks Nest Multipurpose Room (1177 Williams Ln.): 

Tuesday's 5:30pm-6:00pm AND Saturday's 10:15am-10:45am.

Ages: 6-9

Cost: $50.00

 

Tuesday's 6:15-7:15pm AND Saturday's: 9:00am-10:00am

Ages: 10 & Up

Cost: $40.00 (ages 18 & Up)

          $70.00 (ages 10 - 17)

 

 

**Please note that all payments are due by the 10th of each month and a card on your rec desk profile is required for the recreation department to collect payment.
